Businesses were evaluated on the integrity and ethics behind their business dealings as demonstrated by their policies, education, business-to-business recommendations, customer reviews and, sales practice among many other criteria. The winners may go on to compete at an international level in the greater Better Business Bureau's Torch Awards for Ethics. Judges from across multiple industries selected the winners.

- Julie Hakman, President & CEO of AmericanChecked says, “Winning (the Torch Award) is recognition that we are embracing the ideals, standards and principles of ethics and trust.”
- Mary Putnam, Founder of Design Your Site, feels that “Winning the Torch Award is an honor.”
- Joe Schrader, CEO of Oklahoma LED, said, “Winning the Torch Award is another good thing to happen for us always doing the right thing.”
Winners were announced at the BBB Annual Meeting & Torch Award for Ethics Ceremony at Hard Rock Casino & Hotel on November 1, 2017.
