Who We Are
Design Your Site is a subsidiary of INETmax LLC. We started developing websites
in 1998, as a natural outgrowth of providing Business Class ISP services. During
our years of web design we have seen many changes in site design. The web is an
evolving technology. In the early days sites were heavily copy oriented. Web sites
consisted of lots of words, few pictures, and loads of pages. Today we find
these sites tedious.
Thanx to the power of programming and the advent of ASPX, we were able to take content
heavy sites to the next level. Where before we had to create one page for every
product, now we create one page and it shows all products. The design efficiency
alone made websites with online catalogs viable for small business owners. The evolution
continued with the advent of .NET, which further streamlined application development
times and increased page displays.

Well, it seems like I have been doing this all my life. I started with application
integration at Rockwell, (we built the space shuttle and other fun aerospace stuff).
Back in 1984 there weren?t a lot of tools around to handle integration tasks
so we wrote our own. The one I enjoyed the most was an Artificial Intelligence application
for the Space Agency, that was fun.
In 1994, I left the corporate world and started
consulting. I loved helping business owners develop applications that streamlined their efforts.
My favorite project during that time was creating a VPN on the then WorldCom network.
Using an existing database, with some reporting tools and minor programming we were
able to deliver to every Manager a complete list of phone calls made by employees.
It was a great productivity tool, but it didn?t make us popular with the employees.
Needless to say there was a good bit of fraud going on. Mature databases are fun
creatures, they can tell you a lot about what is going on.
In 1997, I opened INETmax,
a business class ISP. Our focus was broadband, hosting and web design. For fun we
will put some of the websites built back then just to highlight the technology changes.
Even then I pushed CSS to create consistency across the pages. Finding and Managing
professional designers wasn?t easy. Everyone with a computer and Front Page 98 billed
themselves as a web page designer. Good web page design is a marriage of great graphics
and efficient programming. I pushed many programmers to improve their skills, and
their tool set. The best project of that era is a portal project that is completely
dynamic, highly graphical and generates revenue using an ad insertion engine that
is truly elegant in its function.
In 2007, we created Design Your Site as a separate
Web Agency and expanded our footprint into the Chicago Metroplex. Our staff is exceptional
in their ability to translate requirements into lovely, usable, effective websites.
